Venice, Italy

Venice (Italian: Venezia, Venetian: Venexia), the "city of canals", is the capital of the region of Veneto and of the province of Venice in Italy. The city stretches across numerous (117) small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. Venice is the northermost major city and seaport on the Mediterranean. The day trip to shop and tour may be short, but if you miss the boat, you will have to take the night train back to Austia.
